Rebuild & Revamp In Progress [NUMBER ONE IN OTOME???]


OKAY WOW HELLO HI I GUESS EVERYONE???

I guess I should introduce myself to you… ALL? My name's Reece and I'm the lead writer and co-creator of SNAGEMON!

And… Wow. Just… WOW. Lauren and I were absolutely floored by everyone's response to our fun, little passion project. We've had so much on our plates recently that we really enjoyed making the original demo together, and seeing it be so well-received has been an absolute delight.

AND I MEAN-- SNAGEMON IS CURRENTLY #1 IN THE OTOME TAG SO?


But yes. Real talk, this game is still just for fun. We'd love to expand on it and make something bigger out of it, but truth be told we've got way too much to put a lot of energy into it. I'm a full-time freelance writer/voice actor/casting director (and heck, in case you're looking for one or more of those things rn, check out my website~) and I work for a number of clients that's been growing by the week lately, so my primary focus needs to stay on my work and income. Lauren's already juggling university, their own projects, AND a new part-time job, and their part in this project is effectively donating visuals and creative advice to me. We're each working 50+ hour weeks as is; that is our situation, and we can't uproot that for SNAGEMON just because it's new and exciting.

But does that mean SNAGEMON has been and gone? Hell, no! We're just gonna be EARNING the time we spend making it through our regular work. After all, just like in SNAGEMON, life is a journey - not a destination!

Our first task is gonna be rebuilding the demo in Naninovel, which is a much more versatile and comprehensive software than TyranoBuilder. For the few things we may lose (maybe no more border around the screen ☹️), we immediately gain better features - including a player naming system, more dynamic sprite posing and effects, and some clever tricks of cinematography to really make the original demo POP! We should also be able to export a Mac version, maybe even a Linux version!

But there's still a lot of content to rebuild, a lot of learning by doing involved, and like I say, I don't know how long it'll take me to do it around my actual work. But I'd like to earn that time.

Along with that, Lauren has decided to donate some better sprites and props to replace the ones they drew for the demo, so there's a visual upgrade involved in all this as well!

As for the future of SNAGEMON? Well… Let's just say your adventure with Kinerret is just beginning. When we decided what we wanted to do for this little mini-jam of ours, we decided to limit to just Garrett's intro, which accounts for a quarter of the prologue of what I've had planned for the story for almost a year.

Four cards to collect… And as for the second card, let's just say the story's about to get quite…

'Glameurous'.

hey when does the full game come out?? i downloaded this game and already beat the demo... so when does the full game come out??

Years. At least. We'll be adding to this prologue as and when we can but as for a 'full game'… Yeah that's a big meal to cook.
